Attack on Titan's cast is filled with characters that will keep you hooked, but if you want to avoid heartbreak, make sure you don't get too attached. This world was filled with dangers big and small, and almost anyone could die at any moment. It's equally thrilling and tragic part.
The hero of this story, Eren Jaeger, knows this truth all too well. As a child, he idolized the exploits of the Scout Regiment and dreamed of a life outside the walls. This ambition soon turns into a burning hatred the day the Colossal Titan steals his innocence. Eren is a fiery and competitive young man who will never back down from a fight, for better or for worse.
Wherever he went, Mikasa was usually not far behind. The Jaegers accepted Mikasa at a young age, and she feels indebted to protect Eren at all costs. He was completely capable of it, far surpassing him in hand-to-hand combat. He is pulled to the point of appearing aloof, having a detached worldview that belies his fiery spirit.
Speaking of passion, that's MO Armin. He is the last member of this inseparable trio, wise beyond his years and adept at devising complex strategies to overcome odds. Armin's greatest weakness is his crippling self-doubt, and he sometimes finds himself frozen to the spot as he watches the horrors around him unfold.
Their closest relationship to military exploitation was Hannes of the Garrison Regiment. He was well-intentioned, but was quite fertile and spent most of his time playing cards and promoting stupidity. Fortunately, the dangerous Scout Regiment had more amazing troops.
Steel-hearted, even flexible and brave, Erwin is the epitome of the perfect commander. Even when things looked the most dire, he planned his next move two steps ahead. His stoic face is enough to inspire legions of soldiers to follow his orders, though maybe you don't have to actually look at his death rate if you want to stay inspired.
His second command, Captain Levi, was driven by a strong sense of responsibility. What he lacks in charm, he makes up for in his abilities, carving the Titans in dazzling displays of violence. He's basically what happens if you mix a non-funny emoji with a pair of swords.
Commander Hange's part, on the other hand, is the exact opposite of Levi's surly demeanor, with his optimistic and obsessive personality. Although tough, he prefers to tell the interesting discoveries that can be obtained from Titan research.
It's barely noticeable on the surface, but half the fun comes from learning about the inhabitants of this embattled community as you go.
